Franz Xaver Reimspieß was an engineering draughtsman who joined Porsche in 1934. While he's known to have developed the air-cooled opposed four-cylinder engine for Volkswagen, his most ubiquitous contributions came in the form of graphic identities he penned; first the iconic Volkswagen 'VW' logo, and in 1952 the Porsche Crest, adopted from the Stuttgart city's official badge. The Reimspieß Crest shown here, from Tony Sottile's 1978 Porsche 911 Targa, has been peeled back to its most essential elements but maintains its unmistakable form. Owner: @shoooo32
